"When it come to the tools we use during braiding, scissors are very important. First you want to make sure the hair is healthily trimmed prior to braiding the hair. And you want to go ahead and invest in some decent hair cutting scissors made specifically for that. You can get them at any hair supply store where you can buy hair extensions, rubber bands, hair products, etc. Now these scissors I bought for probably about seven or eight dollars. They weren't that expensive, but they are very sharp and they work great for hair. The scissors we use during braiding, of course, are used prior to trim the hair, but also, after a braided style has been completed, some people like to take the scissors and run them over the edge of the braid just to grab any stray hairs that may be sticking out for any reason. Also, if you are adding extensions to the hair you will need scissors to cut the extensions to the desired length. I would go ahead and invest in a good pair of scissors just like these. It doesn't matter what your preference is but something that is rather fine. You just want a good, sharp, clean cut. Go ahead and invest in a good pair. Don't use kitchen scissors, get hair cutting scissors specifically."
