"Now we've got our ball of clay. Throw that down onto your bat on your wheel head, get your sponge pretty moist but not dripping, take your left hand, get yourself very stable so this hand doesn't move, take your right hand and push it against the left. The left hand should be trying not to move as much as possible. The right hand in a fist to push this down. Now because the toad home doesn't have a floor we're actually going to open all the way to the bat which we don't normally do, we normally leave about a quarter of an inch of clay for the bottom of whatever piece your making. I just cleaned off the bat with this rib. I'm going to pull this out to a donut about as wide as I think I need it to be in order to be the base for my dome. I just want to clean the wheel head off one last time and next we'll pull this up."
