"Now, when you're traveling out on the road, out in a foreign country, you’ve got to have a place to sleep every night. You can try and sleep in your vehicle, if you want to, but if you do, you're an idiot. Don't do that. You're going to just break your body, before it's even got started rolling, so make sure you have a good place to stay. Now, a lot of people, a lot of bands, man, they shell out a lot of money, staying in hotels every night, and they get it as part of their fee, but I'll tell you, in over six years of performing, I have paid five times for a hotel to stay in. All the rest of the time, I stay with people in their houses. People put you up. They give you a great meal. They give you a bed to stay in, because a lot of people have extra rooms. You don't have to pay for it, and you get to know them really well. In fact, people want you to stay with them. They can't believe that you would want to stay with some people, who just saw you at a show. They count it as this incredible honor, and this really great privilege, to have you stay with them, so you make these great brownie points, essentially, with your fans. I call them friends, and I find out that they actually give a lot to me. I always feel like I'm getting more than I'm receiving."
