"I mentioned that on your website you want to have your email list and your email send outs. What I mean by that, you don't want to just tell people, give people the events and the information they need in order to get to your shows. You want to give people something that makes them feel like they're a part of the journey with you. People love that stuff. People want to be music fans, they always love to live through other people. There's always this hero worship and stuff going on. Now I'm not saying you should set yourself up as some sort of demigod you know; "People bow down and worship me", you don't want to have that kind of thing happen at all. But what you do want to do is give people a window into what you're actually up to. So when I go out on the road; say I went to South Africa, I write a story about all the stuff that happened to me in South Africa. I talk about when I was in the airport, you know, I had this girl come up to me and she started talking to me and stuff and she ended up sending somebody later to the show that I met, you know, and she was from this certain group of people that I kind of had contact with before. People want to find out about that stuff. I write about how I got ripped off when I was in Indonesia, and I was at the, I was going through the customs line and they said, "Oh, your passport isn't good, it has to be good for at least six months more, but I can help you if you help me, you know what I mean?" I paid them two hundred dollars to get into the country. All those kinds of things are incredibly important so that people know what you're up to and they feel like they're on the journey with you. Don't send the, don't send them out everyday, send them out maybe once a week, maybe once every two weeks. Something like that. People stay on that journey with you and they feel like they're connected to the adventure of your performance and your art and your emails become an art all in to themselves."
