In this segment I'm actually going to point the light directly at the subject. And that how you should create a very dramatic back lighting. And then I'm going to use white cards to fill in the foreground to bounce light into the face to make a nice dramatic portrait. One thing with this is it requires a lot of experimentation. Sometimes it?s great straight behind the subject. Sometimes you want to pull it off to one side. But the most important thing is you want to block the light with the subject. I'm going to bring my white cards in now. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to place them so that the light is bouncing, bouncing off the card and back onto my subject. And you can move these around to a spot where you really like them. Sometimes it nice just from one side or to bring in two to get an even illumination. But that's really up to what the mood of your shot is.
