Job Interviews: Planning Questions to Ask

"Okay, now it's time for you to plan some questions, and the magic number is around twelve, or a dozen questions that you want to have prepared. Now, why is it so important for you to prepare questions? Well, by preparing intelligent questions, it will show the interviewer that you have done some research on the business or the organization, and by talking about these elements of the business or organization through your questions, you can steer the discussion. And what you want to do is you want to steer the discussion to your qualifications, and by asking questions tied into the organization, it gives you an opportunity to shine a bit, to speak about yourself in relation to the question that you asked and the answer that you receive. So intelligent questions are very important, and I'll go ahead and tell you this, not asking questions is not an option. By not asking any questions, well, actually that is one of the worst things that you can do in an interview. It shows lack of interest, it shows lack of research, it shows lack of knowledge, so you're going to be asking some questions, so let's move forward in that direction."
