"Okay, the first thing we've got to do before our job interview, is we've go to research. And what I'm talking about is find out everything you can about this company or organization and you're saying to yourself, "Well, okay, how am I going to do that?" You're in luck. I'm going to give you a list of places where you can find out or should be able to find out lots of information about your company. The first thing is the Annual Report. The majority of companies that are reasonably substantial in size will have an Annual Report and this is where you can get a lot of information; especially about the financial elements of the business; how much money do they make, how much money do they spend, so forth and so on. If they have an in-house magazine or newsletter; and many companies have an in-house newsletter; lots of information about the goings on. Product Brochure; depending on the nature of the company, probably good to know what kind of products they sell. Publicity Releases; sometimes you can get really good information in Publicity Releases. Also, depending on the size and nature of the company, you can look in the newspaper; financial business pages; do they; are they a stock company, lots of good information there. Also the Better Business Bureau is a wonderful source for finding out if they've ever had complaints or do they have an A plus rating so forth and so on. Chamber of commerce; Chamber of Commerce is usually a really good source for businesses because they're the ones giving the information about what's in the town to the new people coming to the town. Also, don't forget; company websites; lots of information on a company website and pretty much ninety-nine percent of companies are going to have a website in today's technological world that we live in, right. And last, but not least, you always have the option of talking to current and former employees. That's always a real truthful source for you. And depending on the nature of the job; if it's a job that you have gotten through your college or university, you can always get extra information from the college placement office about the company."
