"Now I ended the last segment by saying the strings come out of the tuning pegs here and continue down the neck of the guitar. The neck is generally, well it's really this whole area which encompasses the head stock, but we usually refer to this general area which is also the fret board. Now on some guitars, you'll notice that right here, there's a separate piece of wood that goes on top of the neck which would be called the fret board. You can make this area out of different types of wood for different sounds, different tones. Mahogany or rose wood or maple, whatever this wood is up here will make a difference. The actual neck of the guitar is feel, it also has an impact on the tone but not quite as much as the fret board. Different guitars will have different assemblies of the neck. This is called a bolt on neck because you screw the neck onto the guitar. There is also neck through body which would be a neck that continues all the way through without the bolts."
