Reading Violin Sheet Music

Now, let's take a look at the C major scale on staff paper. As we see in the key signature, there are no sharps or flats, which means that there is no sharps and flats for this scale, for C major, okay? So, let's start off with C, which we would put a one under. It means scale degree number one. Now, D natural is scale degree number two. E natural is scale degree number three. Now, if you see between E and F, between our third and fourth, okay? Between our third and fourth scale degrees we have a V under the three and four bringing them together. Which means that is a half step. The V is a symbol for the half step. Next, we have a G, which is scale degree number five. A, scale degree number six. B, scale degree number seven. Again, we see the V in eight, scale degree number eight, which is C.
