"This next medicine ball exercise is jump squats. Alright, are you guys ready to really work those legs? This is actually an entire body exercise, so just to start off you can use a 4 lb. ball. If you're not quite there yet even a 2 lb. ball is fine, but once you start to get up in your fitness level start increasing the weight of your medicine ball. Okay, so first: technique. Feet hip-width apart, squat down and just barely tap the floor with your medicine ball and then reach up as high as you can, stretching your entire body. Squat down and reach up. Now, once you have the technique down then you can add the jump, so really explode up, explode, and really squat down. Use your legs, bend and then jump up as high as you can. Now you're going to get out of your breath, but we're working those fast-twitch fibers, explosive movements, burning those extra calories. Whew, and you're really going to sweat. Alright, so that's your medicine ball jump squats."
