"Today, I'm going to discuss strainers in our Bar Tool Segment. Now there's two primary types of strainers you're going to see behind your bar. You're going to have your Hawthorne strainer, which has a coil around it, like that. And you're going to see your Julep strainer which is going to look like a spoon, a larger spoon, with holes throughout it. Now, each of these are to be used for different containers. Your Hawthorne strainer, which is probably the most common, most people are familiar with, goes over your mixing tin. It goes over just like that. Creates a nice seal so that way when you pour, the ice doesn't come out and you pour your ingredients directly into your glass. The Julep strainer, on the other hand goes strictly over your mixing glass, like such. So, to give a quick little demonstration on this, we're going to make a basic drink. So, you're going to take your ice. Fill up your glass. I'm going to start with our liquor, our basic, so we're using a Vodka here. From that point, we're going to add our modifying agent. We're just using cranberry. You want to get your glassware ready in this case. I don't seem to have the glassware I'm looking for so we're just going to use this. Mix your ingredients. Give your, give your tin a slight tap pouring your ingredients into the tin, take your strainer, place it over the top and pour directly into your glassware. And that is the basic use of a strainer."
