"To get to the point that you don't have to think about technique takes years and years of training, thousands and thousands of repetitions. As you can see these students here are performing both technique and ukeme or the ability to fall. They are retraining what the body would initially tell them they need to do. When students come in initially they try to figure out where they need to place their foot, where they need to move their hand, how they need to grab the other person. It is very methodical and they have to think through each and every movement. As you can see many of the senior students here they don't have to think about anything. They have trained the instincts or retrained the instincts to the point that these techniques come out of them fluidly and easily. The benefits of this kind of training will expand beyond both the practice in the Dojo. You will definitely get better and better here but you can take that out into the world and use it in your daily life and that's why Aikido has been very beneficial in the business world as well. There has been many books written on management and conflict resolution and these principles are being applied to many different areas of life these days."
