"Surprisingly 25% of Aikido practitioners practice primarily for self defense. As you can see it is an excellent form of aerobic exercise when practiced vigorously and many of our practitioners have come in and lost weight. One even within two months lost 35 pounds. Many people come in for personal development. You can see that there is physical development. The Dojo members, the other Aikido practitioners will become friends and often times spend time with them outside of the Dojo."
