"Albright Sensei and his students here are demonstrating a breathing exercise called Funakogi undo. This breathing exercise is meant to help students find their physical center or their Ki. Ki is the eastern philosophical concept of the universal creative force of life. Life force or life breath, if you will. Ki is at the heart of Aikido, both in concept and in word. In fact, when you break down the word, Aikido, you find that ki or this energy or spirit is in the middle syllable of the word."
