"We'll break masubi-nokai into three parts as far as learning. First thing I'm going to start in ushira geda hasur, my sword is in the back, blade is down. Miho starts, or shiraki sensei starts in segon. She's going to come in with the shomen, so a straight overhead cut, I'm going to raise this up, not trying to clank her sword, but I want to meet the sword, and then roll the blade over. From here there's tension, she's pushing up, I'm pushing down. I'm then going to roll the tip, roll the blade so the tip is facing her, I'm going to start to slide my hips in, so it goes towards her head. She's going to cover, and then go into a yokomen. I received the yokomen, and again I hunk her down, turn the tip, go towards her head. She goes again for yokomen. Neither one of those has worked, so this third time, she's going to go towards the knee. As she does that, I drop this foot back, and sweep all the way through. So that's the first stage of masubi-nokai."
