"This next technique is called uchi-negosh. Uchikata is to receive, negos is to let flow, or let to fly by. Essentially there's going to be an attacker coming from this angle, off of my 45 degree front angle, he's going to be coming with a straight overhead attack. Okay. Again, I'll demonstrate, and then we'll walk through. Again, uchi-negosh, I have an attacker coming from this angle, I step up with my left foot, then my right, as I draw my sword. I keep it at an angle, so when his sword comes it'll be deflected, and I won't get cut. From this position, I leave this ankle facing forward. I pivot my hips, bring it in line with my head, and facing my opponent here. I rock back, lifting this foot, stepping forward, and cutting, although my feet come together. From this position, I draw my left foot back, bring the tip back to sagon, or pointing towards his throat. I rotate the minea, and put it on my thigh, switch my hand grip. Then I start with my hips, start to do a little bit of a figure 8, allow this to go over, and then it lines up with the siyah, draw and do noto, as I gently go down, cover, cover, step up, go back to the base position. Again, bringing this right in front of the bellybutton, walking back three steps, and finishing with a good salute."
