"In this clip we're going to talk a little bit about the kind of equipment you may want to bring along for an outdoor shoot, to help you get exactly the image you're looking for. Hi, this is a reflector. You've got a little bit of gold and silver on the back, to give you a little warmer light. Here you've got all silver, which is going to give you a pretty harsh, hard light. And then if you unzip this, you get all white on the inside, which is what we're going to use this morning, to just add a little bit of fill, to Alex's face, just to soften the shadow there, and take away a little bit of the contrast. So, now that we've got this white reflector, I'm going to have my photo assistant here hold it. Sometimes good to put your hand through the loop on a windy day, it may get blown around. And I'm just going to help her, come up a little forward, and get it so the light is just softening the shadows, on the model's face. Perfect. Then we can go back to shooting. Nice. Perfect. Often you need to just play around with it, watch where you're bouncing the light. You can often see the shadow just becoming a little less distinct, a little less harsh, and that's what I'm going to have Lindsay, my assistant here, do. Just remember, when you're shooting outside in sunlight, often you can get some harsh shadows. Therefore, it's very important to bounce a little light or a little fill into the shadows, to make that a little less harsh, and a reflector's a great way to do that."
