"Mold is something that many people that have allergies react to. I find that if you have a very humid house, or you're in a bathroom, or any place that has a lot of humidity, mold tends to grow. It's the dark stuff that grows on your shower walls that you have to scrub off every once in a while, and it pops up in some very strange places. If you do have a sponge that you use to clean your dishes in your kitchen, after only two days, there are many mold spores that have already started growing on that sponge. Mold is a living organism. So what you could do instead is put your sponge in your dishwasher because it gets hot enough to actually kill the mold spores on that sponge, or what I've used instead is the scrub brush to scrub my dishes and every time I run my dishwasher, I put this brush in the dishwasher and it cleans it. When you're in the basement, it's very important to make sure that you don't have any kind of water coming into your basement because what happens is, mold will start to grow, and it becomes part of the air in your home. So periodically, you should always do a check of your basement and make sure if there's any leaks, if you have cracks in the wall. Our basement for example, had some leaking that we had to have taken care of. And now that we have, it's made a huge different in our air quality in our home."
