"A great variation of the boardslide is the switch boardslide. Basically it is the exact same thing done in a mirror image of the boardslide. So picture, you are going to have to roll up switch to the ledge now with your feet in a switch stance position and ready to do the switch ollie into the boardslide. But now you're going to find that when you get on your back two wheels are the ones that are going to be sliding on the top of the ledge and it is going to become an ollie that is going to get you out. So sometimes while sliding in this position it can actually be more comfortable to get out and roll away since you are actually rolling away straight now. So what you do is you approach the ledge with one foot in a switch ollie position and the other foot somewhere just behind the front wheels of the board. You switch ollie into the boardslide and you slide along the top and this is where it turns into an actually a lipslide because now your back foot is on top of the ledge and when you get to the end of your slide, coming out of it is going to actually become an ollie. So sometimes it is easier for some people to get out of this trick than it is to get out of a boardslide because you are rolling away straight and you are able to control and handle the speed that you get and that is how you do a switch board slide."
