"Another great variation of the boardslide is to learn how to do a boardslide the fakie. What you are going to do is basically do the same boardslide but when you get to the end of the ledge or the rail you are going to come off it and land backwards or fakie and roll away switch. While you are skating a ledge similar to the one that I have here and you are choosing to do a boardslide the fakie you are going to have to remember your wheels are now sliding along the top so you are going to want to put a lot of weight on the front of the wheels to get out. If you are sliding on something like a rail all you would end up doing is kind of flying off and landing and coming off switch but since I am here and I'm on this ledge what I'm going to do is I'm going to wait until my speed ends and then I'm going to pick up the weight on the front of my board the two front wheels that are doing all the sliding and cause myself to roll away switch so what I'm going to do is remember you have already got the ollie into the boardslide down, you're sliding on the top and then you guide the board off switch so it's almost like you're doing a little bit of a switch ollie to get off from this thing but you want to make sure that you clear the top, you land and you roll away fakie and that's how you do ollie boardslide the fakie."
