"One of the best ways to learn how to do a board slide is to test it just on the end of an obstacle. It's one of those rare tricks that you can get into and get out of. And technically it's a board slide. But, eventually you're going to want to slide them longer and have more control. But when you first start out, you can just end up nicking the end of a ledge and doing a board slide and getting down the motion that you're going to need. And since it's at the end, you're not committing to locking into the trick yet. So you're able to jump out and run the way, and test it out. Just by nicking the end of it. So you're going to want to find a ledge or a curb that has an ending to it. Like the bench I have here. What you're going to want to do is ollie into it and just tap the end of it, and then get back out. The motion that you're going to need to get into this version of it, is exactly the same as when you end up doing it steady and along long ledges and sliding and having control. Which is a desired board slide, is eventually to have control and be able to slide long distances, and pop out. But, so, you want to start slow and just hit the end of the ledge and get in and out. At first. So you ollie in, slide just a tiny bit, and then direct yourself and roll away. And this is a good way of learning how to do board slides."
