"My name is Jared Todd and now I'm going to show you how to do your secondary edge bevels. We've already done our primary edge bevels. The secondary edge bevels are basically sharpening the knife. The easiest way to do it is to get the basic shape done with a two hundred grit belt and then once you get your two hundred grit belt edge bevel done, then you'll go up to a four hundred grit belt. From there, it's basically on to a sharpening stone. There's different ways, different shapes of edge bevels. One is just a standard flat edge bevel. You would use the flat platen on this. The metal backing, so it would be perfectly flat. The other way you can do it is you can use the section right between the flat platen and the wheel. This section right here. So that doesn't really have any backing. So what it does is it gives a slight curve, a convex curve, to the edge. So it's a convex edge bevel. What it does is it still gives the same sharpness, but it leaves a little bit more meat right behind the edge so it's a lot more durable. It will be able to hold more impact. It's stronger. So that's how we're going to do it. Put this back on. It just takes a few swipes. You don't want to go too much or you'll start going up into here and it doesn't look very good. First, you have to put your glasses on, your goggles."
