"Testing knowledge. In twelve volt that's very important. Why would you want to buy a stereo from somebody that didn't know anything about it and how it applied to your situation? You probably wouldn't. So now we're going to go over two scenarios. The person that thinks they have knowledge but they don't. And a knowledgeable sales consultant that can help you with your needs and if he doesn't know, he directs you to someone who does. Customer: How are you doing today sir? Larry: Not too bad. How can we help you today? Customer: I looking to integrate a sub and an amp into my factory head unit in my 2003 BMW Larry: Well, you know, I've got to take a look at it. I kind of don't, you might need, you might have to get a deck. I don't know. Customer: Have you ever worked on a BMW before. Larry: Well I know, that you know, I like Beemers. They're kind of cool. I've kind of watched someone work over one. I know they have something called iDrive, that kind of like controls everything in the middle of your car and stuff. Customer: But audio-wise you've? Larry: Like, do you know what size speakers are in your car factory? Customer: Factory? The rears are six by nines. The fronts are five and a half?s. Larry: Do you know, do you have something called Harmon Cardon inside. Customer: No Larry: Really, well I think I might be able to do it. I have to take a look. We might not have to get rid. But I think we can, I don't know exactly. Customer: Alright, well I'll check back in with you. Thank you, sir. Larry: Alright, yeah, no problem. Now how to do it. Larry: What's going on man? Customer: How are you doing? Larry: Oh we're just hanging in there, you know, another day. Customer: Well, I'm looking to integrate an amplifier and a sub-woofer into my factory head unit in my 2003 BMW. You think you can help me out. Larry: Well that's a nice BMW you've got out there. Is it a five series? Customer: Yes, Sir Larry: Wow, that's sweet. Well you probably have Harmon Cardon in there and an iDrive. The iDrive controls everything from your climate control, your navigation, and your audio adjustments on your amplifier. You have factory amplifiers from Harmon Cardon. You have a three-way component up front, a tri-axle component in the rear, and some rear mid bass speakers and a factory woofer in the trunk compartment. The battery's in the back so the amp labor's not going to run too much, but you are going to need a high to low level converter and a switch power accessory wire off either your fuse unit up in the rear half of your vehicle. It's going to require a little bit more labor and an additional part besides the amp install labor. You're going to need an amp wiring kit in. I think we can take care of you man, really. I have full confidence. Customer: Thank you. That the best explanation anyone's given me so far today, so. Thank you very much, Sir. Larry: And, you know, we'll work with you on the price, but more importantly with a nice car like that, we're going to get it done correctly. And I'm not going to gouge you just because you have a nice car, so. Customer: Awesome. Look forward to work something out. Larry: Yeah, hey, you want to make an appointment. Customer: Yeah, how's next week. Larry: Sure, sounds good. Customer: Let's do it. And that's how it's done."
