In this clip I will explain a little bit more of the most popular Bulgarian folk dance Ruchenitza. Ruchenitza comes from ruche which is hands because the hands are very much involved in the movement. These dances are very competitive because it, it’s always played from man and a woman together or from any couple together and involves a lot of master dancing, a lot of footwork and a lot of hand gestures. Also in Ruchenitza, we can use some handkerchiefs to decorate the movement of the hands and we can rise them from different levels and do one hand then another hand and both hands, and then leave them alone and keep moving the hands and clapping with the hands and keeping the hands on the waistline and turning from left to right while doing the basic movement of the dance.
