"Usually in stock cars you have an air box which contains your air filter, and what this does, it keeps debris from going into the auto body or your intake system of your vehicle. Because if that gets clogged up, then the vehicle won't run properly. So what you do, if you have the box, you locate the air filter box, which is usually in the corner of the vehicle in the front. So what you do, in this case I have like a different kind of filter, it's a reusable filter. So once you locate the filter you just, you're going to have a couple of clamps, you undo the clamps so that you can actually get the filter into your hands to see if it is good. Now once you have the filter out, you want to make sure that it doesn't have, that it is clean enough to operate your vehicle. So what you do, you can generally take the filter and hold it up to the light, then if you can see through the filter then the filter is still good. Now with these reusable filters what you can do, you can blow out the debris and actually take the filter and wash the filter out and let it dry, then apply a chemical to it, it's like a light oil, so that it doesn't suck anything too small up into it. So you apply a light oil to it, let it dry for a little bit, then you reattach it as needed. But with paper filters, like once they get a considerable amount of debris and dirt in them, then you will need to replace them. So you just go to your auto parts store and find the proper filter for your vehicle. And that is what you're dealing with when you're dealing with air filters in your engine system."
