"Next we're dealing with removing the spark plug wires. There's a special tool you can actually get to remove the spark plug wires, but if you don't have it you can use maybe a 90 degree needle nose plier. And what you want to do, you want to make sure you grab it on its most sturdy end, you don't want to grab it on this wire part right here because you would root the wire out of this boot. So what you do, you find your sturdiest point, grab it on, make sure you have a firm grip on it, kind of wiggle it, because it is made out of rubber inside. So once you've got it freed up, you free it up off of the spark plug, and you repeat the step for however many spark plug wires you are replacing. Then what I do normally, sometimes, so that I don't lose track of what I'm doing, you can label the spark plug wires as you go to make sure that you put them in the right spot when you get them back on. If you're replacing them you just kind of want to make sure that you keep track of where you're at, and so on. So you just go through, label each one, because if you get these things mixed up, it's going to make your car run very bad. So you kind of want to keep track of what you're doing, so you shouldn't make a mistake while you're doing this. It's not that it's going to mess up your engine, but it definitely will not operate properly without this being put back together properly. So once you've got them all labeled, then you go through and you take them off, each one. Then whether if you have the distributorless system or the distributor cap, you disconnect it from its other end. You can just repeat this step for each one. And there you have the removal of your spark plug wires."
