"In this clip we're going to talk about choosing your tarantula. First of all we have to make sure to do our homework when looking for a tarantula. Check out books, surf online, go to your local pet store, ask a lot of questions. Find out exactly all the information you need to make sure that choosing your tarantula will go smoothly and easily. First thing, where are you going to get your tarantula from. You can consider exotic pet stores, or surf the internet for online stores, but you need to make sure it's a reputable source. Once you've found your source for a tarantula ask that source if your tarantula has been captive bred or wild caught. If it's been wild caught ask if that wild caught tarantula has been collected responsibly. Unfortunately tarantulas and their interest in the pet industry has grown remarkably, so it's very important to make sure that you're purchasing a responsibly collected or, excuse me, or captive bred individual, so that we aren't harming those species in their native habitats. Now when purchasing your tarantula, you should see that tarantulas costs anywhere from thirty dollars to upwards of a hundred dollars or even more depending on the type of species. Now a starter species will cost anywhere from thirty to forty dollars and these species will be Chilean rose hair tarantulas or Mexican red knee tarantulas. These are a good starter species and they are affordable as well. As you become more interested in the tarantula pet trade, you will find that your interest will grow and so will the price. So the old world species, the more interesting and exotic species tend to be a bit more expensive. Make sure that the place that you purchase your tarantula from either has a good captive bred program or has the mark of collecting responsibly from the wild. With these tips you will definitely be able to get yourself a great tarantula from a great source."
