"Now we are in a mid engine rear well drive platform car and we are going to start out with a 1996 Elise by Lotus. MR cars are a little different to drive than another car simply because the major weight in these cars is right behind you. So your weight shifting is going to have to be a little more delicate in these cars. You are going to want to have to catch the slide with the throttle control as well but just keep in mind that MR cars are going to rotate rather quickly so your initial steering input probably doesn't have to be as large as an FR platform car. This car is a low horse power mid engine rear wheel drive car, the lowest in the game for this platform and it is a good place to start to kind of feel out how an MR car would react to your steering inputs. You will notice that I may not be turning in as much but the car is still able to rotate around. So let's try to get a clean lap in this low power MR car, same idea as the FR's, you will want to control your entry speed, very key. You want to catch the weight of the car and balance it out with the throttle so it isn't sliding. Because it is a low horse powered car you can be fairly aggressive with your throttle. So it really teaches you how a mid engine rear wheel drive car will react to your steering. It is a lot more touchy so care needs to be given to how you throw these cars around. So an MR car's lift off usually works quite well, I just lift off here, throw the car and catch it, lift off here and catch it. We'll kind of do the same thing but we are going to use the brakes and let's do another lap coming in this corner hot so use your brakes. You want to be patient with these cars because the weight is behind you so you can actually pay attention to how your rear end is reacting so your initial steering input is not going to be as hard as an MR car. These FR cars like to rotate a lot. So, nice gentle throws will get the car around sliding and once again because this is a low horse power you can just pretty much floor it out with the corners and control the car with your steering input. You see I'm lifting right before to get the car sliding and that is just shifting the weight forward a tad and that's all you really need to shift these cars around. Let's go ahead and do one more lap and see how it turns out. So this is low power so you don't have to pay attention to feathering too much pay attention more to the body movement of the car and you can just floor it up and around to get the car through the corner. Once again lift off is probably one of the best entry techniques to use for an MR car because the back end does just step out on you if you do that and you just lift off and the back end comes off and you can catch it with the throttle. So I will demonstrate again lift off at this next corner. All it is is just a simple lift and a turn in and catch it with the throttle right away and you will be sliding these MR cars around like they were FR's."
