"Hi, this is Jon, and in this clip I'll be talking about your work area. First off you want to make sure that your work area is kept clean and neat. When you're done using tools make sure that you place them back in the appropriate location. It's always good to have a mop or a broom and clean the floor periodically while you're working. Lighting is another important aspect of a safe workshop. You want to make sure you have plenty of light and that you can always see clearly what you are working on. And lastly, it's always good to have an identified safety zone. Here we have a joiner, and around that joiner we have a yellow area marked out. The way the safety zone works, if I am using the joiner, I'm the only one allowed inside of that safety zone. This is going to avoid distractions, or it's going to avoid anybody walking in the way of where a piece of stock might be coming through, or a blade might be cutting."
