"In this series, we're going to talk about some things women can do to keep themselves safe while traveling or when they're out and abroad. From here, we're back in the restroom situation. Now it's a little bit different, now the attacker is now armed. What this tells me is he intends to do serious damage to the individual. Probably a rape, an assault situation. There's some technical things that we will be going to be doing to handle the gun situation that are a little bit different from simply running away. Similar to the other defense that we did in the restroom, having the cell phone out and being on the phone, if the gunman comes into this stall, or bursts into it, or she had some notice he's coming in, it's still very helpful because then there is a, try to connect to a 9-1-1- center that there's an assault going on. This may be enough to have them, the gunman leave because he doesn't want to be found. If the 9-1-1's on the phone, then he knows there's not that much time before the police arrive. When it comes to self defense, remember there's no rules. Any object that's near you can be used for several things. I could use this as a weapon perhaps to jab or to strike, or even to throw at the attacker to cause them, a diversionary tactic to have to deal with the thing, something being thrown at their face, to buy me extra time to get away. Nothing is off limits. "
