How to Remove a Radiator Fill Reservoir

"In this clip we're going to talk about the proper way to remove and replace an electronic cooling fan. In this step we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing your radiator's fill reservoir. It's going to have an overflow line on it, that does not come with a clamp. It just slides on and the squeeze of the rubber holds it on to the nipple on the fill reservoir. It's not a pressurized component, that's why they don't use a clamp on it. If yours does happen to have a clamp on it make sure to reinstall it when you put the hose back on. Slide this up and out of the way. It's going to have some bolts that hold your fill reservoir to the cooling fan, they're lefty loosie, righty tighty kind of bolts, it's got one right here on this side, it's a ten millimeter, go ahead and use my deep well ten millimeter socket, and my three eighths ratchet, right there. Put that in the magnetic tray so I don't lose it, and go ahead and get the other mounting bolt. It may have more than two, it may only have one. Most electronic cooling fans and fill reservoirs are made of what they call Bakelite plastic, it's an extremely hard plastic and thus being extremely hard it's extremely brittle. So if your fill reservoir doesn't come off real easily you're going to want to take and put a little extra time into finding the bolt that you've missed. That is the proper service procedure for removing your fill reservoir from the electronic cooling fan."
