"O.k. so one of our first postures for waking up in the morning is child's pose is a cobra. This I like to do in a very easy very gentle flow. And sometimes, I'll admit, I do it right in my bed. And then, child?s pose of course looks like this. You're going to sit in heroes pose with your heels under your butt and you're just going to drop to the floor, head to the floor. I'm turning my head to the side which is o.k. but mostly I'm doing it for your benefit. Child's pose is here, it?s going to open up the lower part of the spine and when you're ready you're going to walk the fingers forward stretching them out as far as they can go while reaching the tail bone back at the same time, to create opposition in the spine. And then you're going to raise the gaze, look between the thumbs and just scoot forward into a nice low cobra. Here in this cobra I'm not using my arms to bend my back, I'm just lifting my heart. And all you're going to do is do this a couple of times exhaling and inhaling, lift the heart exhaling push back into your child's pose, reach those finger tips inhaling forward to cobra. Do this a couple of times as many times as are comfortable for you. Get a little movement into the spine between the shoulder blades and in the lower back and when you're ready just come to an easy seated pose and take a few breaths in preparation for your next posture."
