"The Tiboli people is mainly agricultural. So the dance that you're going to see today is a ritual for planting. Before the planting season for the rice, the Tiboli people have the ritual called Madal Tanom, where the community actually dances this at the rice padis, in the muddy area were asking the help of Diwata, the highest consciousness the bless the bounty of the harvest and save the rice plants from infestation. So, this is the way this Madal Tanom is dance. The dancer is not a Tiboli but she's going to show to you how this dance is represented on stage. She's wearing Tinalak, this a hand woven textile of the Tiboli people from Abaca fiber. And she has a basket and she's wearing mataljifi which is a beauty spot and she's wearing suwat, which is a handmade."
