"Now I want to tell you a little bit about the different slides I have right here. There's one right here and one right here. Their main purpose is for tuning as well as this large slide. This is for more refined tuning and it's only for when you use certain combinations of your fingers when you're playing. This one right here for my ring finger I use for One and Three because the third valve with the first valve in combination is out of tune naturally. When they made trumpets you just can't perfect some notes. It's just like playing the guitar sometimes your string is always out of tune or differing things like that. For this always the way it's just made is that that is going to be out of tune. For One and Two sometimes that can be out of tune as well and I use this slide right here. For the trumpet it's really a lot about the ear. You have to really listen to tuners and really just hone in on what the notes are because you can use all these slides, you can use this large tuning slide to just, you know, when you're tuned is when it's cold you're going to be sharp, and when it's warm you're going to be flat. And so you really just got to know what kind of environment you're playing in and once your trumpet warms up it's going to get out of tune. So you really just have to always listen when you're playing, listen to who you're playing with and make sure you're right on the money."
