"One of the best ways to learn any flip trick in general is to start out testing it stationary and trying to only land it with one foot. While learning half cab 180 kick flips, this is especially true. The more you practice foot placement and flipping the board, the better. It's also a fun past time thing to do because it doesn't take too much energy. So sometimes you can just practice a trick or test how it feels like you're waiting for the bus or standing on the sidewalk somewhere and it won't interfere because you're not rolling. So, one way to do that is just to test flipping and landing with one foot on the board. So what I'm going to do is put my feet in a position that I want to test out for the half cab 180 kick flip. The first position I'm going to try is going to be feet fairly close together because I've known this to work pretty good, and I'm just going to set up and only imagine I'm going to land with my front foot on the board, just to get the hang of it. Just to figure out what's going to happen. So I'm going to flick the board and watch it turn and wait for it to see what it does just as a reminder. So watch it. So what I learned from that little test was that I wasn't able to get the board to flip 180. So now I may test out and see how that will change if I put my foot a little more to the side. And this is just one of the ways that it can help you to learn how to do half cab 180 kick flips better, or really any flip trick in general for that matter. And this is the way that you can learn how to do better flip tricks is just by taking it slow and testing."
