"Some of the common mistakes that you'll make while learning how to half cab back side 180 into a manual, is well you're rolling up to the obstacle or manual pad, you're going to notice that your timing is the most important thing. This goes into play with a lot of fakey tricks. The timing is slightly different because you're going to need a little more space to get into the obstacle that you're getting into. So while you're rolling up, you might want to test different dip distances from the ledge. Because what you might notice is, that you may come a little too close and hit on your way up or at least go a little too close and land in a grind or hook up on the spot. So what you're going to want to do is test different distances at different speed and learn what will bring you up on top of it in the right way. Another common problem will be that once you've landed in the manual, you'll notice that sometimes you just land and land in a stop position or dragging your tail. This is going to mean that you're going need to lean a little more far forward to compensate for that. That's just going to take trial and error and get the feeling of it over time. The other problem that you're going to have with a half cab 180 ollie manual is, in the manual position, you're going to notice that, your shoulders are going to want to continue in the back side motion. This is very normal because the half cab 180 causes you to turn and while you're in the manual, it'll cause you to continue to turn. What you're going to want to do is fight that urge in the manual and correct your shoulders and continue going straight."
