"Now we're going to look at the sounds of the feet. There are four or maybe five sounds that we use in the beginning stages and then we can add more as we become more advanced students. The first sound, you already know, and that's the ball of the foot striking the floor and that's called Planta. Notice I lift the leg to 90 degrees and I drop down. If taken from the side, you're going to notice that it comes from the back and down. We lift the leg from the back and down. You want to avoid bringing the leg up as if you're marching. You want to always make sure that the leg comes from the back and up. So now we're going to do Planta or ball of the foot and then I'm going to put the heel down. Change my weight, pick up the left foot, planta and then push the heel down. Change my weight, planta, and push the heel down. Change my weight and planta and push the heel down and put my weight evenly. There."
