"In this first clip on how to audition for a Broadway play, I'm going to talk about the importance of going to see theater. Don't just spontaneously and abstractly think that "Oh I'm going to go audition for theater". Go and see it, be a patron of the arts, go see plays fall in love with it. Are you really in love with it? You've got to see theater to know realistically what you can do, I mean, it doesn't matter how many years I've been training as an actress and taking classes. If I go see a play once a week, I am so much better at my auditions that week. I don't know, I can't explain it, I don't know why. I don't know what it is, something about seeing people on the stage actually performing. Being bigger than life being you know external externalizing their emotions. Something about that inspires me and gives me permission to do an incredible audition that week. So go see tons of theater, read plays, watch TV, watch actors everywhere. Immerse yourself in the art and that is one of the best ways that you can prepare yourself for that upcoming Broadway audition. It's something I can't emphasize enough, I mean if you don't like going to see plays what's the point? Educate yourself by going to see plays."
