"Hello I'm Dr. Miguel Rodriquez. I'm a Gastroenterologist with Miami Gastroenterology Consultants in Miami, Florida. When you talk about symptoms of Gerd or reflux disease affecting the throat, the common the patients tend to give you is a sore throat. Particularly after waking up in the morning or sometimes it's a persistent nagging cough that just doesn't seem to go away. And less common situation the more likely scenario, the other scenario is a recurrent infection of the throat that require multiple courses of antibiotics. In those cases you always need to think that they may be experiencing a manifestation for reflux disease at the level of the throat and the pharynx and that will require treatment for that condition."
