"Hello, I'm Dr. Miguel Rodriguez, I'm a Gastroenterologist with Miami Gastroenterology Consultants in Miami, Florida.Well babies can have- all babies reflux to a certain degree. In some babies the symptoms of reflux would be characterized by fussiness, they can cry, they may not want to drink, or they feel- or having difficulties even sleeping. And these symptoms sometimes tend to exasperate the parents. And in many instances these babies can be treated with simple things like, changing the position of the pillow, not putting them on their tummy and not putting to bed immediately after feeding the baby, and of that category. If the symptoms do not get better, of course medication may be needed for a short period of time, that will be the decision of the physician who choose who prescribe the medication. And in just extreme cases and endoscopy would be necessary to assess for damage."
