"My name is Benjamin Mosley. I'm going to give you a few tips on how to help your child choose a career. I think it's important, one, to consider the child's age, maturity, and interest. And most of all, as a parent, not to be overbearing, but to give the child some latitude to explore a lot of options. Some of the options can be explored through job shadowing opportunities whether it be at your work, or the work of friends, or doing Internet searches where they can explore these opportunities, see what's required educationally, what the duties are, and what the salary expectations might be. I think the other is people tend to choose work, like to choose work that they like and it's important if you can get a career that pays money, substantial money and also give you a fulfillment in other areas. The basics for this would be a solid foundation, English, Math and Science. It doesn't matter what career you choose, I think these are very fundamental component to going into any direction you may choose. And keep in mind, the careers of today may not be the careers of tomorrow. Keep that in mind when you're educating your child and exploring your child, the options on choosing careers."
