"You may have recently been employed in a job that is going to require you to verify IDs and you're not sure how to determine whether an identification or specifically a driver's license is valid. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question, "How do you determine if a driver's license is valid?" Well, the first thing you want to do is look to see if the driver's license is formatted like a valid document. In this day and age it should be laminated. It should have a picture of the individual, the name and address, and identifying data on that driver's license. A date of issuance and a date of expiration, but perhaps if you have reason to determine whether that license is valid suspended or has been forfeited, you want to go a step further and contact the Department of Motor Vehicles in the state in which this driver's license is purported to have been issued. You can go online and with this individual's name and with the driver's license number and other identifying data such as date of birth. You can then actually pull it up and see if it is a valid driver's license, if it is subject to suspension or revocation or withdrawal. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
