"You may be wondering why you should buckle up when you are operating a motor vehicle. Hello! I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to discuss seat belt laws and fines. Basically, every state with the exception of New Hampshire has a sea belt law. So, the first thing you want to do is to take a look at the state that you're going to be operating a motor vehicle in, check out their laws at the Department of Motor Vehicles and find out what the law in your state requires. Generally speaking, if you operate a motor vehicle without wearing a seat belt, you will be subject to receiving a traffic citation and a traffic citation will be accompanied by a fine, and the fines vary from state to state. So, again check your particular state for the amount of fine you can expect. But more importantly, seat belts save lives and they prevented injuries. The statistics are overwhelming about the advantages of wearing a seat belt. So, it's not just enough to obey the law, it's for your life and the protection of your loved ones. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
