"This is financial advisor Patrick Munro talking about reporting financial statements accurately. In the world of scandal on Wall Street and all of what has been going on with the distrust in the market place, many people that should know better are not reporting their financial statements accurately. Trust is must! And even on an individual basis when you're filing your own income taxes and things of that nature, you must make sure that you report your financial statements accurately. Then and only then, will you have clear conscious that you will not have a problem going forward. The best way to do that is to make sure you keep an accurate short term allocation of what is coming in to your business or your personal life in the form of income. Make sure that your liabilities on a monthly statement basis are kept current so that you know exactly how much you owe at any given time. The difficult, most difficult part, is to understand the valuation of your assets, such as your home. In this environment, home values are going down. But if you come to a situation, make sure you get an appraisal and then of course, you will know where you stand. This is financial advisor Patrick Munro talking about reporting financial statements accurately."
