"There's four general Lacrosse positions. There's mid-fielders, attack, defense, and goalie. Within each of those positions, there are other positions. Like for the mid-fielders, most of them are going to carry a short stick and they are going to be the guys that transition on both sides of the field, so when the ball's on offense, they'll be on offense. And then when they transition to defense, these guys will keep the short sticks and will continue to play defense. There are other mid-fielders that are going to be having a long stick which is this right here. It's about six feet tall. This is called a long stick middy. These guys... these are the guys that come onto the field in transition when the offense loses the ball and the other team gets in the defense... one of the offensive mid fielders are going to come off the field. And somebody's got to come on with a long stick to help out on the defense. The defense men are also going to be carrying the long stick. This just allows you to cover a wider area, to pick passes out of the air, to throw checks and is really just meant for putting punishment on people and taking the ball away. For the players on attack, they're going to be located on the opposite side of the field as the defense, and they're going to be covered by the opposing defense. What they're going to be doing is they're the goal scorers in the game. They're the guys that are going to be around, all around the goal, shooting, getting in close and scoring goals."
