"Hi my name is Candice from Sunflower Kids Childcare of Castle Hayne, North Carolina. And today I'm going to talk to you about meal planning for home day cares. Meal planning for home day cares, you basically have to make sure that you meet the requirements by the state. An example of that would be for breakfast, you must make sure that the child is getting a bread, and a fruit and also milk. Milk must be served with breakfast and lunch. For snack, you may have juice or milk, but juice may not be given for breakfast or for lunch. It is important that you follow the guidelines of planning the meals, for example children may not be given un-nutritious foods to eat such as popcorn, which is very un-nutritious and is also considered a choking hazard may not be served to children in daycares. Cookies may be served at snack, but they cannot be given more than twice in one week. And those are some of the things that are included in meal planning for a home daycare."
