"Hello, my name is Rocky Gillis. I'm with the Broward County Athletic Association and Offense Defense Football Camps. Just a couple of items in becoming a football recruit. First of all, you need to develop the skills and ability and decide first of all which colleges are of interest to you. Develop a list. Go ahead and now do your research. Look up the colleges on the website. Find out the coaches name, coaches address. Next I would advise you to go and work with your high school coach on putting together a highlight film. Once you've developed this highlight film you need to send it out to these colleges that you have researched. These colleges should meet your needs both academically as well as athletically. Once you've sent these out, and these should be sent out during your junior year or prior to your junior year, so that you can start the process off with getting contact with these schools. Next, you will have to go and make sure that you're taking care of your business both in the class room and on the field. Again, after compiling your list of colleges that fit your needs and abilities and developing your high school highlighted tape with your high school coach, sending them out... The next thing you want to do is start continue to develop your skills, attending local and national camp, again such as the Offense Defense camp which gives you the full contact camp... gives you the ability to put into practice those things that you're being taught. Then you want to make sure that you're responding back to all request from the colleges. And then last, but certainly not least, you want to make sure that you register for the clearing house. No one can play and accept the college scholarship without being accredited through the national clearing house."
