"Hello, my name is Rocky Gillis. I'm with the Broward County Athletic Association and Offense Defense Football Camp. In this clip we're going to show you how to become a better running back. One of the first things that we're going to talk about is your hand, holding on to the ball, the grasping of the ball. The first thing we do is we put a claw over the tip of the ball. Next we have the next points of contact which is the wrist and the forearm. After that you bring the ball across your chest and notice both Mason and Pierre are holding the ball high and tight. One of the things that techniques has been professed by Tiki Barber when he was with the Giants has been known to create the least amount of fumbles. Notice how the strong grip we have, notice it's there. This running action will be continued throughout the progress. Again we move over to the ladder and we will practice running through the ladder with the ball because obviously you're going to have to avoid tackle as well as doing the course of the game. Go ahead again one step in each. Notice the ball movement is up across the chest, high and tight. As they return to the beginning, this time we open up the stride and now we put it in every other step. We have one foot in every other square, again high and tight. Notice the ball action up across the chest high and tight. High and tight. Very good. And finally, we'll show you the proper way of taking a hand off. Here we go first when going to the right side of the quarterback go ahead. Notice that the left arm is up high and then coming down clamping on the ball once it's given off. We'll also demonstrate what happens when you go to the other side. Notice it is the reverse, the right arm is now up high, the ball is placed in and he's clamping down and beginning his grasp. In closing, this has been Rocky Gillis. Thank you for watching."
