"Hi, I'm Donna Barnes, life and relationship coach here in New York City, and the author of "It's All About You." To have a romantic birthday party for your boyfriend, if there's going to be other people there, more than just you and him, then do something a little playful to give him something to look forward to after that just the two of you will be at, like maybe wear something sexy under your clothes and give him a little hint of it some time during the party so that it peaks his interest and maybe even have a second location that's just for the two of you, you know, maybe set up the bedroom with rose petals and candles, except don't light them 'til you get there. And really have a great playlist keyed up on the on the iPod if you have that ready to go so that you can really have him after being out with his big friends and their family and everybody. And if you're throwing that part, make sure that you invite the people that are closest to him, and certainly if you can, maybe make a tribute video about that year of his life or you know, whatever part of it you could. And really make a special evening for him, but make sure there's the cherry on top, if you will, when you get home. Now if you're going to have a party that's just you and him, then yeah, pull out all stops. Really make a nice meal or order a nice meal, if you have take, if you can take him to his favorite restaurant but give him something to look forward to. I really like the idea of wearing something underneath your clothes that could tease him a little bit and get him excited. Men are very visual, so it gives him something to really fantasize about until you get home, and then don't disappoint when you get home. Maybe have the you know, the rose petals thrown all over the bed or if that's too expensive, maybe just have some nice you know, bottle of something on ice, waiting and the music playing from a great playlist of all your special songs together, and have the candles and and really maybe do something different for him. Ask him if he has any kind of fantasy that he'd like to live out. Try doing that. Definitely just make sure that it's all about him, it's his special night and I'm sure he'll have a great birthday."
