"Hi. My name is Michael. Today we're going to talk about how to buy fish aquarium supplies. Before you head down to your local pet store, it's real important that you know what size tank you have, what kind of filter you have and what size replacement cartridge you might need for your filter if that's what you're purchasing. If you're not sure about the size or what type it is, I recommend putting that filter in a ziploc bag and taking it with your to the pet shop. Now, when you are purchasing your supplies, if it's ornaments that you're doing, if you're decorating your tank, take into consideration the height of your tank. If you go to the store and you buy something that is too tall for your tank, it's not going to fit, it's not going to look right. So, keep that in mind. You've got ornaments that are short, tall. What kind of fish do you have? Let's take that into consideration. Do they need hiding places? Things like this make excellent hiding places for your fish. We've got bridges, all sorts of ornaments. It just really depends on how you want to decorate that tank. The other thing is if you're just setting that tank up, you need to have the proper amount of gravel, and general rule of thumb is that we want to have one pound of gravel for every gallon of water that we have so make sure that you buy the correct amount of gravel. Also, know what the needs are for your particular area as far as water goes and your local pet shop should be able to help you out with that. Each municipality treats their water a little bit differently. So that way, you can find out from your local shop exactly what you need. Here in our area, we use ammonia detox because that removes some of the ammonias, the chlorines and the chloramines out of the water that keeps your fish safe. Do you need a net? Do you have a net? Nets are really important for your tank as well. Cleaning supplies. We've got gravel siphons, different kinds of glass cleaners to keep your algae off your aquarium, different brushes to keep your filter clean. Take all this into consideration when you go down to your shop. Communicate with your local shop. Let them know the size of aquarium and what your needs are. They'll be able to answer your questions. My name is Michael and we talked about buying aquarium tools today. Thank you."
